Dear Customer, Dear End-User,

You trust in our products for many years and we thank you for this.

From our side, we are committed to offering you robust and accurate products of the highest quality and of the highest electronic and optical technology.
This technology is in constant evolution and leads us to improve our products consequently.

In that context, we would like to inform you about an important upgrade to our infrared beacons.
BMA range is no longer available. It is replaced by BMU range.

BMU beacon is a universal beacon designed to work with all references of our SIRRAH sensors.
It is used to measure sway, skew, trim and list movements of a load hoisted by a container crane or a bridge crane.

These new beacons have their protection against corrosion highly reinforced thanks to 3 specific new treatments :
- Application of a tropicalising varnish on complete beacon including LED facet
- Complete hardening with resin of the LED facet internal part 
- Complete hardening with resin of control electronics. 

In addition, two protective countermeasures have been taken :
 against wrong plugging
 against over voltage and parasites thanks to a resettable fuse.

Finally, a 24VDC version has been developed for environments with instable electrical network.

Moreover, BMU beacons are more ergonomic because working mode, beacon codes and infrared light level are adjustable by end-user through special software and PC laptop.

That means each beacon can be used in mode 1 (sway only) or in mode 6 (sway and skew) or in mode 7 (sway and skew, trim and list) : a unique reference to buy and to maintain for all different needs and projects you could have.

      BMU stands for “Universal Matrix Beacon”
      x indicates the power supply voltage
      x = 0 : 110 or 220VAC / x = 1 : 24VDC            
      y indicates the vertical emission angle   
      y = 1 : cone of +/-12° ; y = 2 : cone of +/-25° ;
      y = 4 : double cone of +/-3° and +/-10

      Synchronization cable for BMU beacons used in mode 6 (2 beacons)
      or 7 (3 beacons)
      x.y indicates the cable length in meters (standard reference is DRC3-5.0
      i.e. 5 meters long)

     Special cable for BMU programming to be connected to a PC-RS232
     with SUBD9 plug.
     Cable is 1m long.

Reference : DRC5

     Connection cable used to interface a BMA beacon to a BMU one through
     the DRC3 cable.
     Cable is 10cm long.
